2004 GOLD MEDALIST RHI JEFFREY HAD AN AMAZING VISIT WITH TCSC ON MONDAY!!!

What an inspiring day for all of our swimmers, parents, and Rhi!
It was an incredible experience for all of our swimmers to get a first hand look at an Olympian and hear what dedication it took to get there.  Rhi was wonderful signing autographs, posing for many pictures and just hanging out with the team.  Scott talked about the training and commitment it takes to become an Olympian and how that same commitment is needed by every swimmer to reach each individual's highest potential.  Rhi talked about the grueling schedule, but also said that it was worth all sacrifices to stand among the USA Olympic team in Athens.  Not only to become an Olympian, but to learn how to be a better person overall by learning disciplinary traits that will help her succeed in whatever she decides to do-by the way we know coaching is not one of them.  After seeing what Scott had to do with her, she's going to stick to her acting goals and of course train for the 2008 Olympics in China.
Rhi showed off a bit of her talent in the water, and raced some fast 6 & unders who just out touched her.  She wouldn't however allow David to beat her in the 50 free (although if he had just finished harder-who knows! ha ha)  Anyway, it was a wonderful day for the team and we thank Rhi for coming up and we hope she can come back again when she is back in town!!!!   THANKS RHI!!!

A look at Rhi's accomplishments-  While swimming under Coach Barlow, Jeffrey was a 2004 gold medalist in the 800 Free Relay at the Olympic Games in Athens.  Rhi also was an 8 time Florida State Champion (the only female to win all titles), and was a gold medalist on the 800 Free American record setting relay at the 2003 World Championships in Barlcelona.  She made her first international Pan Pacific team at the age of 15.  Rhi broke the oldest high school record in the 200yd free, was a USA Swimming National Champion in the 100m free and holds the National 15-16 girls 100m free record.
