Lindsay Barkett and Orla Jordan earned gold medals for Treasure Coast Swimming at the International Age Group Invitational
last weekend at the Hall of Fame Swimming Complex in Fort Lauderdale. Barkett won the 10-and-under girls 50-meter backstroke with a time of 38.97 seconds, while Jordan captured gold in the
11-12 girls 50 backstroke with a 34.54. Barkett also finished second in the 50 free and 100 free and third in the 50 fly. Of the 20 competitors from Treasure Coast Swimming, eight individuals earned top 10 finishes. Eoghan Jordan earned silver in the 10-and-under boys 100 breaststroke (1:33.88), and Amanda Brocksmith, Sean Ledford, Andrew
Wojcik and Rachel Lanam also were top 10 finalists. The 11-12 girls 200-meter freestyle relay team of Jordan, Sydney Turner, Jennifer Kramer and Marina Martinelli placed fifth. Almost 1,000 participants from the United States, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Caribbean Islands and Mexico qualified for
the meet. TCSC will have 13 swimmers at the upcoming Florida Junior Olympics and 10 have qualified for the Florida Senior Championships. |
